conundrum

I start using twitter to generate attention.  Click my link, read my content, come see my band tonight.  How can I control that attention?

I check out a couple of my friends on twitter, I click on tweets in public timeline that are in my native language, I try to find people who will like my band.  I follow 30, 40 people…how do I get them to follow me?  There’s a conversation happening in front of me, but no one can hear what I say. 

I suspect that once some users hit this wall, they bounce and go on to the next thing. 

So how do you make it work for you?
